The Virtru app for iOS allows you to collaborate securely with contacts and other recipients when you're away from your desktop Virtru platform. You can download the app and access your secure Virtru messages (and non-Virtru messages), and also send emails securely - all right at your fingertips.

Install
You can install the Virtru iOS app from the App Store. The iOS app is available to download on both iPhone and iPad.
Activate
The Virtru for iOS app offers three different options for configuration. Gmail, Office 365, and Other.
Gmail
This option allows you to log in with your Google account credentials and connect using the native Gmail API connection.
1. Once you have installed the Virtru app and open it, select, Activate, and choose Gmail
2. You will be prompted that "Virtru" Wants to Use "google.com" to Sign In. Click Continue. If you are already signed into a Google account on this device please choose the account, otherwise select “Use another account” to continue signing in with your Google credentials.
3. Once you have selected an account or signed into your new account you will be prompted to allow the Virtru app to connect to your Google mailbox. Click “Allow" to continue.
4. When you have allowed Virtru app to connect to your mailbox we will send out an activation email to verify your account and device. This email comes from noreply-activation@virtru.com and the Virtru app will process this email for activation automatically. This will happen in the background for the user ((you will not have to take any direct action on the email). Once you see the Activated screen you will be directed to your mailbox by tapping Go to Inbox.
Office 365
This option allows you to log in with your Office 365 account credentials and connect using the Microsoft Graph API connection.
1. Select Office 365 from the Add Account page
2. You may be prompted to share cookies and website data. Click Allow. You will then be directed to login.microsoft.com to sign in with your Office 365 credentials.
3. Once you have allowed the Virtru app to connect to your mailbox we will send out an activation email to verify your account and device. This email comes from noreply-activation@virtru.comand the Virtru app will process this email for activation. This will happen in the background for the user, once you see the Activated screen you will be directed to your mailbox.
Other
This option connects to any other type of account using an IMAP connection.
1. Select Other from the Add account page
2. Enter your email address and password to allow Virtru to auto discover your server settings.
3. If you need to configure your server settings manually please select Let me configure my email settings, fill out the required information and hit save.
4. Once you have allowed the Virtru app to connect to your mailbox we will send out an activation email to verify your account and device. This email comes from noreply-activation@virtru.comand the Virtru app will process this email for activation. This will happen in the background for the user, once you see the Activated screen you will be directed to your mailbox.
Activating Another Email Address
The Virtru for iOS app offers the ability to activate more than one account. This feature allows you to switch between multiple accounts when reading and/or sending secure emails. To configure an additional account:
1. Open the Menu in the upper left corner
2. Click the arrow in the menu to collapse the Quick Access options and All Folders
3. Select Add account
4. Continue the activation process as detailed in the activation options above

Security Settings |
To enable Virtru Security Settings, click Security Settings below the Virtru toggle at the top of your screen. A box will appear giving you additional security options for your secure email such as Disable Forwarding and Set Expiration. You also have security options for files such as Watermarking and Persistent File Protection. When you’ve specified your settings (if you choose to add them), click Done and hit Send when you’re ready. |
Update Security/Protection |
If at any point after sending your secure message, you decide to Revoke or change your Security Settings, just go to your Virtru App > Menu (top left) > Select your Sent Folder > Click on the Secure Message you’d like to make security setting updates to.
From here, you can hit the Revoke hand icon at the bottom of your screen to rescind access to the email. If at any time you’d like to restore access, simply press the eye icon at the bottom. Or, if you’d like to change your Disable Forwarding or Expiration settings, simply select Security Settings from the top and make the necessary changes to the settings, click Done. And you’re all set. |
