With the Virtru for Drive plugin, you can easily access any secure files (.tdf) within your Google Drive. The plugin will recognize the encrypted file and redirect you to the Secure Reader for viewing.
This article will walk you through those steps and the required browser settings to view your content in the Virtru Secure Reader.
Steps to View Your File
After you have installed and activated Virtru for Drive, you will have the option to encrypt and decrypt content within Drive. You will also be able to view encrypted files within the Virtru Secure Reader:
1. Double-click on an encrypted file in Drive (it will have a .tdf file type)
2. This will open the Virtru Secure Reader login page where you can select or enter your email address. Click on one of the options to proceed
3. You will then have the option to Sign in with Google Or sign-in with a one-time verification link
4. If you are a new user, or a prior authorization has expired, you will need to Authorize Virtru to retrieve the file
This may require that you sign in with Google
And you may need to confirm or approve access
If you are having trouble, you may need to allow pop-ups and/or third-party cookies:
- Third-party cookies: https://[*.]virtru.com
- Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects: https://secure.virtru.com:443
Once you completed the above steps, you should be able to view your file
