If your administrator has deployed Virtru Secure Share for Google Drive, you will be able to securely share files in just a few clicks. In this article, we'll walk you through that process.
Secure Share
1. In Google Drive, click on the Virtru Secure Share icon in the add-ins side panel on the right side of the screen.
2. You will see a prompt to select the file(s) you wish to share.
Select the file(s) you want to encrypt. You can select multiple files by holding command or control while selecting files. Selected files will show in the Virtru Secure Share panel.
When ready, select Encrypt.
3. You will be redirected to the Secure Share Sign in page. If you haven't already logged in, you will be prompted to do so. You can Sign in with Google, Use Single Sign-on (SSO), or request a one-time verification link.
If you selected the one-time verification link, you will receive an email from verify+XXXXXXXX@virtru.com (with each X being a random digit). Select Verify me to complete the process
4. If this is your first time using Virtru Secure Share for Google Drive, you will be prompted to grant Google Drive access. Select CONTINUE.
A new window will open, and you will need to log into your Google account. From there, you will be prompted to review the requested permission. In order to Secure Share, Virtru will need access to "See and download all your Google Drive files." When ready, click Continue.

You may need to allow pop-ups.
5. You will then be brought to the "Upload Files" page of Secure Share with the Drive files already added. Click NEXT to proceed.
6. On the "Secure" page, apply any additional security options to your message. When ready, click NEXT.
7. On the "Share" page, you can:
- Enter your recipient(s)
- Set a share subject
- Add additional messaging with optional encryption
8. Before sharing, you may use the PREVIOUS button to review your selections. When ready, SHARE. You will then be directed to a confirmation page.
You will also receive a confirmation email in your mailbox.
And your recipient(s) will receive an email in their Inbox with a link to the file(s), as well. (Viewing instructions: View a Secure File Shared with You via Virtru Secure Share)
