Overview
Most customers with paid Virtru accounts are eligible for a custom subdomain. Subdomains allow you to insert your organization's name or URL into the experience. They are also a prerequisite to using Virtru's Self Service Branding - which lets you further customize Virtru's products to match your brand's unique identity.
Subdomains are structured like this: https://[your_custom_subdomain].secure.virtru.com
When enabled, the sub-domain will appear in the following places:
- Secure Reader
- Control Center
- Secure Share
- Email Template
Enabling Subdomains for your account:
Step #1: Reach out to Virtru Customer Support or Customer Success Manager and request that subdomains be enabled for your account. Please include what you want your custom subdomain(s) to be.
Subdomains are formatted as follows: https://[your_custom_subdomain].secure.virtru.com. You need to indicate what you want to appear in the [bracketed section]. For example, if you wanted AcmeCo to be your subdomain, the final result would be https://acmeco.secure.virtru.com
Step #2: Virtru will acknowledge your request and work to get your subdomain(s) configured. This process can take 2-3 business days to complete, so please plan accordingly.
Step #3: Virtru will confirm once your subdomain(s) have been configured. At that point, you will see the subdomain appear within your Control Center, Secure Share, and the Secure Reader. You will also be able to access additional branding options by going to https://[custom_subdomain].secure.virtru.com/control-center/branding
