Force Install Drive Chrome Extension for Windows OS (Admin Guide)

As an administrator, you have the ability to force-install apps and extensions for your end-users.  Any extensions installed in this way will be available to your users when they log into managed devices.

This article covers how to force-install Virtru on a Windows machine in a managed environment. Forced Installations will automatically push the Virtru extension to your users. All they need to do is activate Virtru and begin using.

Requirements
Forced Install on Windows Domain

Requirements

  • Any OS that is supported by Google Chrome
  • A recent version of Google Chrome
  • Internet Access
  • Google Play Store
  • Access to the Virtru Required Endpoints
  • Domain Joined PC

 

Forced Install on Windows Domain

ADMX

  • Download the Windows ADMX Templates - Link
  • Install/Extract to Group Policy Templates
    • Local Policies - %WINDIR%\PolicyDefinitions
    • Central Policy Store - \\DOMAIN\SYSVOL\DOMAIN\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\

Group Policy

  1. Open Group Policy Manager
  2. Create/Edit Computer Policy
  3. Navigate to:
    • Computer Configuration
    • Policies
    • Administrative Templates
    • Google
    • Google Chrome
    • Extensions
  4. Open
    • Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions
  5. Set to:
    • Enable
    • Add the Virtru Extension 
      • nhdkblgjckgbdpjbohjepdakoioldloe;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx
