Background

This document will guide you through the configuration of Virtru Marketplace Gateway rules backed by Gmail infrastructure.

Specific steps for this section include:

1. Add Host
2. Add Rule
3. Test Rule

Assumptions: 

(Example)

• Mail Encryption Trigger:
  • #secure# in Subject
  • Outbound Messages
• Mail Flow: Gmail > Gateway > Final Delivery
• IP of the gateway is: 1.1.1.1

Creating Gmail Rules

• Log into your Google admin console 
• Navigate to Apps >Google Workspace>Gmail
• Click on the "Hosts" tab
  
• Click the ADD ROUTE button

Add New Host

• Click back to "Settings for Gmail"
  
• Click on "Advanced settings" 
  
• Search for Content Compliance

• Add Rule
• Create a name for the rule (Example) 
  • Name: Virtru Gateway (Encrypt Outbound)
• Select messages to affect (Example)
  • Email messages to affect: Outbound

• Add expressions that describe the content you want to search for in each message.
  • If All of the following match the message Add Expression

The following image will illustrate testing the subject of a message.

• Select Change Route and select your new host

• Click (Add Setting)

• Click (SAVE)

Save the Rule to Gmail
