For applicable customers, Virtru Secure Share can be customized to add restrictions to the files users can upload. With this feature, you can restrict the number, size, and types of files users can share and/or receive via Secure Share. You can also pre-configure or block the various security settings.
File Restriction Options
File Type
A strict allowlist can be configured to limit acceptable file types. If enabled, users will be unable to upload any other file types when selecting files. They will see a message in the user interface indicating what file types are allowed.
File Count
Admins can request limitations to the number of files shared in a given session. Users will be unable to exceed this limit in a single share. They will see a message in the user interface indicating what the maximum number of files is. If they need to share additional files, they will need to initiate a new sharing session.
File Size
The default file size limitation is 15gb. By request, this limit can be lowered. If enabled, users would see a message in the user interface noting the limitation.
Security Settings Options
Watermark
Admins can request that this option be locked in an off state or automatically applied to all (applicable) file types.
Expiration
Admins can request that this option be locked in an off state or that an automatic expiration window be set on every file.
Persistent File Protection
Admins can request that this option be locked in an off state or automatically applied to all (applicable) file types.

Limitations and Notes
- These restrictions only apply to content being sent to or from your custom Secure Share subdomain. If an internal user receives a Secure Share link from another Virtru customer, your internal controls will not apply. Similarly, if an external user sends a Secure Share, but not via an internally generated sharing link, external controls will not apply
- Each restriction is configured independently of the others, so you can choose which restrictions you wish to apply and which settings you do not want to change
- This feature will disable the ability to drag-and-drop files in Secure Share. Users will have to click "upload" and then select the desired files. All unsupported files will be greyed out/unavailable
- Secure Share restrictions are org-wide and cannot be specified to specific users and groups
- You will need to open a new Virtru Support ticket if you want to adjust the configuration
