Localization provides you the ability to use your native language across multiple Virtru products.
The current products that support localization are:
- Virtru for Gmail
- Virtru Secure Reader
By default, all new customers will auto-detect your language based on your client or browser preferences. Products will default to the highest priority language you have set that we support. If no supported languages are listed, the product will default to English.
No special setup is required to enable the products in specific languages.
Auto-Detection Language Selection
By default the product auto-detects from either the mail client or the web browser. It will default to the highest ranked, supported language regardless of locale. If none of the listed locales are supported, it defaults to English.
Each product detects the language from a different setting, for full support please make sure both of the language settings are enabled.
- Virtru for Gmail -> detects Gmail’s language
- Secure Reader -> detects browser language
Manual Language Selection
We also offer the ability for a user or administrator to manually override the auto-detect function and this can be done the Virtru dashboard. This toggle only affects the individual user and not their organization.
Custom DLP rules can be created using all Unicode characters for all languages within the Dashboard.
The DLP engine in BP-Gmail supports all Unicode characters including English, French, and Japanese in both content and attachments.
Custom DLP rules will need to be created in specific languages if the language used is not English. Currently, the only preset DLP rules we support are English
Currently, default mail recipient templates are all in English. We will be adding functionality to detect the recipient’s language and set the mail template to the appropriate language.
